Is education the ticket to prosperity?
Absolutely. There is no doubt about that. Some of us may drop out for
a year or two. I am also a GED student but was able to find that mentor,
Lemar Elizondo, he is clearly in my mind and he was one that was a huge
advocate that was able to take me by the hand and show me. Benny Muñoz
who works for the Migrant Council now, taught me math when I was getting
my GED, so all these people are still around us but they played a big
role in helping me get where I am now. I can proudly say that I have gotten
a teaching degree now and am coming back and helping as many as I can.
